La Colina
Brought to you by the owners of Tokyo’s most popular Mexican restaurant, Fonda de la Madrugada in Harajuku, La Colina offers a modern and metropolitan twist to Mexican cooking. Located in Tokyo Midtown’s Garden Terrace area, the atmosphere is chic, with dark wood, bold colors and muted lighting. La Colina opens out into a spacious patio where you can enjoy the sun and scenery during nice weather, and at night, the restaurant offers a fantastic view of illuminated trees lining Midtown’s main road. The kitchen, meanwhile, offers creatively presented dishes and drinks by Mexican chef Margarita Salinas. Delectable à la carte items include ceviche estilo colima (seafood seasoned with olives, capers, fresh green chilies, cilantro and orange juice, ¥1,580) and Chuleta de Puerco en Manchamanteles (grilled pork chop with chili and fresh fruit sauces from Oaxaca, ¥2,630). Or try one of La Colina’s lunch courses (¥2,940, ¥4,730) and dinner courses (¥6,830, ¥8,930). The restaurant’s massive drink menu includes martinis, margaritas and Mexican beers among other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. 1F Garden Terrace, Tokyo Midtown, 9-7-4 Akasaka, Minato-ku. Tel: 03- 5413-0092. Open daily 11am-midnight (LO 11pm). www.lacolina.jp
